Creativity for the holidays

This year I was creative for the holidays, creating and sharing photo albums with family members and knitting my first baby blanket.

Reliving memories and determining how to display them took time, some emotional regulation (as I relived those experiences), and creativity for placement, size, patterns on a page. Learning how to knit, which I’d only been introduced to before, took time, perseverance and time allotment over several months. For completing these projects, I benefited from scheduling blocks of time and setting a timer, with breaks for movement, other tasks, life … These projects truly defined “labor of love” for me, and were warmly welcomed by family members.

Wishing you opportunities for time and perseverance for your creative projects too! JNC
